Wild cacao from the banks of the Purus river.

The cocoa used in this chocolate is the main source of income for Cooperar, a cooperative founded in 2007 by almost 200 forest gatherers, distributed in 51 communities along 800 km of the Purus River. Next to cocoa, they also extract other products from the Amazon rainforest, such as bananas, beans and corn. Diversifying the use of forestry products allows these communities to increase their income sources, while at the same time reinforcing the importance of saving and maintaining the forestn and the biodiversity.

Flavour notes: olive, cardamom, chestnut, fudge, molasses, hints of banana

Ingredients: cacao beans, cane sugar, cacao butter. May contain traces of nuts and milk.

This chocolate has an almost creamy texture and complex flavour profile, with woody notes, but also chestnuts, sugarcane molasses, spices (licorice and cardamom) and green olives.

The beautiful packaging contains two bars of 40g each, packaged separately, totaling 80g of chocolate. This way you don’t need to open all your chocolate at once and you can consume it with 100% quality at another time! That is, if you manage to contain yourself, of course. The packaging also shows the story of the chocolate and a map of the origin.

This chocolate won a bronze medal at the Academy of Chocolate awards 2018.
